Borderlands 4 Release Date: What We Know So Far
Gearbox Founder Drops Major Hint
In a recent interview with IGN, Gearbox Software founder Randy Pitchford gave a cryptic hint that Borderlands 4 might be in development. When asked about the upcoming Borderlands movie, Pitchford said, "We're working on a lot of things, and I think you'll be excited to see what we have in store."
Early Release Possible
Borderlands 4 has yet to be officially announced, but a recent listing on the Gearbox website suggests that the game could be coming out sooner than many fans expected. The listing, which has since been removed, showed a potential release date of 2026.
PlayStation 4 and Xbox One Support Dropped
In the same interview with IGN, Pitchford also hinted that Borderlands 4 might not be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. He said, "We're always looking at the latest and greatest technology, and we want to make sure that our games are taking advantage of that."
What We Can Expect
Based on the hints from Pitchford and the recent listing on the Gearbox website, it's likely that Borderlands 4 is in development and could be released as early as 2026. The game is likely to be available on next-generation consoles, such as the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, and may not be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
