Benedict College Football Dominates with Offensive Onslaught
Senior Day Celebration Brings Victory
Lawrence, Kan. - The Benedict College Tigers celebrated Senior Day in grand fashion with a resounding 54-38 victory over Concordia University Michigan on Saturday, December 1st. The Tigers' offense put on a dominant display, amassing 568 total yards and scoring eight touchdowns.
Sophomore quarterback Eric Phoenix led the charge for Benedict, completing 15 of 22 passes for 256 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed for 55 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Senior running back Qua'Shaun Jackson contributed with 127 rushing yards and two touchdowns, while junior wide receiver Jalen Rhone hauled in six receptions for 102 yards and two touchdowns.
The Tigers' defense also played a pivotal role in the victory, intercepting two passes and forcing two turnovers. Senior linebacker Devin Bright led the defense with nine tackles, including one for a loss. Senior defensive back Tyrese Randall recorded an interception and returned it 30 yards for a touchdown.
Benedict College's victory improves their record to 8-3 this season. The Tigers will now prepare for their final regular season game against Central Methodist University on Saturday, December 8th.
