Corach Rambler Wins a Dramatic 2023 Grand National
By Marcus Armytage at Aintree
Corach Rambler, the 8-1 favorite, came home an impressive winner of the 175th Randox Grand.
The race was full of drama, both on and off the course. On the track, there was a pile-up at the first fence, which saw several horses fall. Off the course, there was a protest from animal rights activists, who invaded the track during the race.
Despite the disruptions, Corach Rambler stayed focused and jumped cleanly throughout the race. He took the lead at the Canal Turn and never looked back, winning by a comfortable margin.
The victory was a popular one with the crowd, who had been cheering for Corach Rambler all day. It was also a special win for trainer Lucinda Russell, who became the first woman to train a Grand National winner.
Corach Rambler's win was a fitting end to a dramatic 2023 Grand National. The race will be remembered for years to come, both for the excitement on the track and the controversy off it.
